Field Study Students

Both Credit and Non-Credit Learning and Training Opportunities are Available

4-10 week programs

University Field Study for Credit:  College students ready to complete their community service credits or conduct a field study for a quarter or semester are offered 4 or 10 week project opportunities at One Island. Students remain enrolled in their host institution and then contribute a tuition fee to One Island in exchange for an academic learning component that is customized to meet their college requirements. We will work with you to establish, guide and monitor a place-based learning program that meets your academic goals.

Tuition stipend contributions are $1,500 for a 4 week project and the 10 week option can be designed to serve as a semester or quarter project. Ten week program is $3,500. Includes instruction, lodging, meals, local field trips, and airport transfers.

Equivalency may be 3-12 credits. Academic plan activities are 34 hours a week.

We have expert botany, behavioral science, community development, renewable energy, GIS mapping, and non-profit program administration mentors available. You will arrange credit parameters with your academic advisor at your host institution and we will help you meet those goals.

We average four Field Study spaces available on rotating schedules.
