Food Buyers

Welcome to the One Island Food Buyers Survey

You are invited to join a local research effort that will be gathering information on our island’s commercial food buying patterns. What do you get locally, what is imported, and what might you be interested in sourcing locally if it was readily available?

We understand how valuable your time is and have streamlined this information sharing process as much as possible. We suggest starting by requesting a printable survey form so you have a worksheet to note your data on before starting the online form.

To request the printable forms, call 328-2452 or email hawaii@oneisland.org.

VegetablesOnce you have your average  weekly quantities estimated on paper, by different food types, then it is easy to go online and enter those figures. We have a self-calculating worksheet on the back end that is gathering and tabulating everyone’s surveys so we can share with our food buyers and farmers a clearer annual picture of the actual volume of food moving through our commercial kitchens on the island. We protect your privacy by not listing your survey information publicly, the combined results of every company’s input is what will be shared.

Our goal is to help connect Hawaii Farmers to Local Kitchens.

Your participation helps us grow a greener local economy, fosters increased food security, plus improves flavor and nutrition.

We welcome food buyers of all sizes, from any part of the Big Island to participate. Your data sharing will help the island’s ag community step up to meet your demand for fresh, healthy, reliable, and delicious foods.

Click below to access the online surveys (powered by Google). Please complete each form individually, click SUBMIT, and then return here when ready to start the next form. We recommend completing each form in its entirety in one sitting, but you do have the option to come back in and make corrections later. Be sure to click the SUBMIT button at the bottom of each survey in order to store the data before leaving the survey form to ensure your work is securely saved.

Please direct any questions to One Island at 328-2452 or email us at hawaii@oneisland.org
