Join the international Green School movement!
One Island is hosting The Green School program serving youth, adults and families in Kohala, Hamakua, Kona and Ka’u with great learning activities for all ages. Plus we have begun programs in California and Washington.
YOUTH The Green School offers academic and experiential learning for grades 3-12. Challenging science and humanities programs focus on local learning related to global topics. Current project is The Great Pollinator Hunt, thanks to funding from the Jane Goodall Institute.
ADULTS The Green School provides experiential workshops, discussion groups, tours and film nights for all ages – adults included! Our programs are held at Farmers’ Markets, green buildings, local community and school gardens or beautiful local farms and offer art, food, gardening, environmental activism, green faith, wellness, indigenous cultures and mythology topics. We also host seasonal film features and concerts.
The Green School is building its own curriculum and also offers special features that include the Jane Goodall Institute, Hokulea Voyaging, Kokua Hawaii, Hawaii Island School Garden Network, Pachamama Alliance and more. We combine classroom, school garden, service learning projects and fun family-friendly field trips.
Green is a Verb – let’s do it!
