a Food as Medicine healthy foods access program
Our program is providing two boxes of fresh produce per month to qualified participants for ten months.
We promote access to island grown healthy foods and services that are available to low income participants who have a chronic health challenge or are highly sensitive to COVID. If you are Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, we have additional services available. If you are enrolled through QUEST for health insurance, or Medicaid, you will automatically be eligible. You will need to identify your healthcare provider to participate as we are offering these services as part of your health care program.
At this time, pick up locations are in Waimea, Honoka’a and North Kohala.

A waiting list is inviting Hawai’i Island Community Health Center participants in Kea’au, Hilo and Pepeekeo to pre-qualify through your clinic.
To determine if you qualify for the Same Canoe program, please complete the two forms available HERE.
If you do qualify, you will receive a Welcome Packet in the postal mail with in 2-3 weeks with directions.
